Supplier Categories

Learn how to create and manage supplier categories in RedERP.

Overview

The Supplier Categories section allows you to group suppliers into categories for easier management, reporting, and procurement workflows. Categories can define default payment terms, pricing tiers, and risk levels.

How to Create a Supplier Category

  1. Go to Data Management → Supplier Categories

  2. Click Create New Supplier Category

  3. Fill in the category details:

    Basic Information

    • Category Name (required) — Enter the supplier category name.
    • Category Type — Select the type (e.g., Materials, Services).
    • Description — Add notes or details about the category (optional).

    Financial Settings

    • Risk Level — Define the supplier risk (e.g., Low, Medium, High).
    • Default Payment Terms — Set default terms for suppliers in this category (e.g., Net 30, Cash on Delivery).
    • Pricing Tier — Select pricing tier (e.g., Standard, Premium).

    Status

    • Set the category as Active or inactive.
  4. Click Create Category to save, or Close to exit.

Actions

  • Edit: Update category details anytime.
  • Delete: Remove unused or obsolete supplier categories.
  • Assign to Suppliers: Link suppliers to categories for default settings and reporting.
