Client Categories

Learn how to create and manage client categories in RedERP.

Overview

The Client Categories section allows you to classify clients into groups for easier management, reporting, and pricing strategies. Categories can define default payment terms, credit limits, and discounts.

How to Create a Client Category

  1. Go to Data Management → Client Categories

  2. Click Create New Client Category

  3. Fill in the category details:

    Basic Information

    • Category Name (required) — Enter the client category name.
    • Category Type — Choose the category type (e.g., Standard).
    • Description — Add notes or details about the category (optional).

    Financial Settings

    • Default Credit Limit — Maximum allowed credit for clients in this category.
    • Default Discount Percentage — Automatic discount applied to clients in this category.
    • Default Payment Terms — Define payment rules (e.g., Net 30, Cash on Delivery).
    • Pricing Tier — Select the pricing tier (e.g., Standard, Premium).

    Status

    • Set the category as Active or inactive.
  4. Click Create Category to save, or Close to exit.

Actions

  • Edit: Update category details at any time.
  • Delete: Remove unused or obsolete categories.
  • Assign to Clients: Link clients to categories for automated credit, pricing, and discount rules.
