Product Categories

Learn how to create, edit, and organize product categories in RedERP.

Overview

The Product Categories section allows you to group products into logical categories for easier navigation, reporting, and management.

How to Manage Product Categories

  1. Go to Data Management → Product Categories

  2. Click Create New Product Category

  3. Fill in the category details:

    General Information

    • Category Name (required) — Enter the category name.
    • Reference Code — Short code for the category (e.g., ELEC for Electronics, CLOTH for Clothing).
    • Parent Category — Choose a parent if this is a subcategory, or select Root Category.
    • Description — Add details about the category (optional).

    Category Image

    • Upload an image to represent the category (max size 5MB).

  4. Click Create Category to save, or Close to cancel.

Actions

  • Edit: Update any category fields.
  • Delete: Remove unused or obsolete categories.
  • Hierarchy: Organize categories under parent/child relationships for structured navigation.
