Return Note

Guide to creating and managing Return Notes in RedERP.

Overview

The Return Note is used when a customer returns goods previously sold and delivered. It ensures proper adjustment of stock and financial records.

Purpose

  • Record returned products
  • Adjust stock levels
  • Initiate credit process if needed

Typical Workflow

Invoice / Delivery Note → Return Note → Credit Note

Dashboard / List View

  • Return Reference
  • Customer
  • Return Date
  • Source Document — Linked Delivery or Invoice
  • Status — Draft, Approved, Completed
  • Total Returned Amount

Create New Return Note

Steps:

  1. Go to Sales & Invoicing → Return Notes → Create New
  2. Enter the required fields:
FieldDescription
Return Reference*Auto-generated by system.
Customer*Select returning client.
Return Date*Date of product return.
Original Invoice / Delivery*Select source document.
Location*Warehouse where goods are received.
RemarksOptional reason or note.
  1. Add product lines and quantities being returned.
  2. Click Confirm Return to restock items.

Tips

  • You can generate a Credit Note directly from a confirmed Return Note.
  • Returned quantities are automatically added back to inventory.
