Sales Order
Guide to creating and managing Sales Orders in RedERP.
Overview
The Sales Order document represents a confirmed sale between your company and a customer. It follows the quotation stage and precedes delivery and invoicing.
Purpose
- Record confirmed customer orders
- Track delivery and invoicing status
- Maintain accurate order history
Typical Workflow
Quotation → Sales Order → Delivery Note → Invoice
Dashboard / List View
Displays a summary of all sales orders with key details:
- Order Reference
- Customer Name
- Order Date
- Status — Draft, Confirmed, Delivered, or Invoiced
- Total Amount
- Delivery Status — Pending, Partial, Complete
Create New Sales Order
To create a Sales Order:
- Navigate to:
Sales & Invoicing → Sales Orders → Create New - Fill in the following fields:
| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| Order Reference* | Auto-generated by default (editable). |
| Customer* | Select existing client from the list. |
| Order Date* | Defaults to the current date. |
| Delivery Location* | Select customer delivery address. |
| Currency* | Select applicable currency. |
| Ledger* | Choose sales ledger for accounting. |
| Remarks | Optional notes for internal use. |
- Add products and quantities.
- Click Save & Confirm to finalize the order.
Tips
- Always verify stock availability before confirming.
- Orders can be converted directly to a Delivery Note or Invoice.
- Partial deliveries can be tracked via linked documents.
