About Manufacturing

Manufacturing in RedERP: work centers, BOM, routings, production fiches, production orders, work orders, inventory, and quality control.

Overview

The Manufacturing module plans and runs shop-floor production: define capacity and recipes, release orders, track work on the floor, issue materials, receive finished goods, and record inspections.

Open Manufacturing from the module launcher or sidebar. The first screen is the manufacturing dashboard.

How records connect

RecordWhat it isNext step
Work CenterA machine, line, or cell with capacityAssign it on routing operations and work orders
BOMComponents needed to make a productLink to routings and production fiches
RoutingOrdered operations for a productRelease a production order to spawn work orders
Production FicheReusable batch recipe (materials + steps)Create or import before raising production orders
Production OrderA manufacturing run for a quantityRelease, start, complete; drives materials and QC
Work OrderOne routing step on the shop floorStart, report progress, complete
Material issue / FG receiptStock movements for productionPost from Inventory Management
InspectionQuality check on production outputRecord in Quality Control

Products and locations still come from Data Management. Sales orders can be linked on a production order when the run fulfills customer demand.

The Manufacturing sidebar also includes Sales, Procurement, Stock, Finance, Reporting, and Settings groups for the full factory workspace. This guide focuses on the eight manufacturing screens above.

  1. Create Work Centers for each line or cell you track.
  2. Build the Bill of Materials (BOM) for finished products.
  3. Add Routings that reference those BOMs and work centers.
  4. Optional: save a Production Fiche to standardize recurring batches.
  5. Create and release Production Orders; work Work Orders as steps complete.
  6. Post Inventory Management issues and receipts; log Quality Control inspections before closing the order.

Configure manufacturing flags (auto work orders, sequential steps, BOM issue tolerance) under Manufacturing → Settings before you rely on release automation.
